Vermont Academy at Mount Snow

Imagine the best of both worlds. Vermont Academy and Mount Snow Academy have merged! It’s more than an independent school and more than a snow sports academy… it is Vermont Academy at Mount Snow.

Vermont Academy (VA) is a small New England boarding school renowned for handcrafting an extraordinarily unique education for each student through challenging and rigorous academics, learning support, advising, and social-emotional learning. VA teaches students to rely on their inner compass and encourage the pursuit of adventurous ideas, genuine interests, free-thinking, and lifelong growth.

Mount Snow Academy (MSA) is a high-level training program for aspiring and competitive alpine ski racers, freeskiers, and snowboarders. For over 50 years, their premier coaches have produced collegiate athletes, national team placements, and Olympic medalists. MSA’s athletes compete in the Southern Vermont Series (USASA) and the Southern Vermont Council (VARA)—two of the most competitive divisions in winter sports and train on snow six days a week, taking full advantage of Carinthia Parks and Mount Snow, a world class Vail resort.

"We feel this is a positive step for Mount Snow Academy, strengthening their academic program through the merger with Vermont Academy and the boarding school's approaches to academic enrichment, independent thought, lifelong learning and continual growth and development in and out of the classroom,“ said Mount Snow General Manager & Vice President Brian Suhadolc. “We applaud the new partnership and look forward to continuing our longstanding relationship with the Academy.”

Together, Vermont Academy at Mount Snow offers a unique opportunity for student-athletes to cultivate their passion for on-snow sports while maintaining a consistent college preparatory academic program. Cultivate your passion without sacrificing your education. Vermont Academy at Mount Snow is where you will thrive in the dual pursuit of athletic and academic achievement.
