Vermont Academy at Mount Snow is a premier winter-term ski/ride academy in Southern Vermont.

Vermont Academy at Mount Snow provides high level training for aspiring and competitive alpine ski racers, freeskiers, and snowboarders. Our student-athletes compete in the Southern Vermont Series (USASA) and the Southern Vermont Council (VARA) - two of the most competitive divisions in wintersports. We train on-snow 6 days a week, taking full advantage of mid-week access at Carinthia Parks and Mount Snow, our home mountain.

Our school community is intentionally small, ensuring that everyone receives highly personalized & individualized attention on the hill and in the classroom. The vast majority of our academic classes happen in a 1:1 setting, where we are able to accomplish a lot of learning in a condensed period of time. We return students to their home schools in the spring on pace or ahead of their peers, with the added benefit of having spent their winter receiving undivided focus from their teachers whose main goal is their success.

Join us for a sample session, the entire season, or somewhere in between - our customizable sessions are designed to support student-athletes to reach their athletic goals while ensuring academic rigor and providing an unforgettable experience.

Alpine Ski Racing

Alpine Skiers at VA at Mount Snow train for competition in Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Super G. While we foster a team environment in which each student-athlete is respectful and supportive of one another, we also focus on helping each student-athlete achieve his or her individual goals. Strength & conditioning sessions and weekly video review supplement the 6 days of on-snow gate training and technical freeskiing.

Freeskiing

We aim to create skiers who tackle the park with the wisdom of strong competitors and the joy of athletes out to have a great time. Fun and safety are priorities for the Freeski team, who both celebrate each other’s successes and motivate each other to try again and to try something new. The Freeski team focuses their competition in Slopestyle and Rail Jam. Our professional coaches will safely guide athletes through progressions, including off-snow body awareness training, utilizing best practices in coaching & mentoring.
